Training Week & Student Internships – Portugal (July–Sept 2024)

As part of the Green Roofs Technician Training Program, our partner ANCV – Associação Nacional de Coberturas Verdes hosted the first student mobility activity in Portugal, combining training and practical internships.

🔹 From July 22–26, 2024, students from Poland and Romania attended an intensive training week in Porto, with lectures, case studies, and workshops on green roof design, nature-based solutions (NBS), and urban resilience. The program concluded with a field visit to Parque Urbano da Pasteleira, highlighting sustainable urban green infrastructure.

🔹 From July 29 to September 13, 2024, 20 Erasmus+ students continued with 300-hour internships at organizations including Bragança Ciência Viva Center (CCVB), LIPOR, CMIA Vila do Conde, Iberfibran, and Imperalum. Activities included:

• Developing projects for implementing green roofs on existing buildings
• Conducting studies on thermal insulation solutions
• Preparing and delivering workshops for staff and the public
• Carrying out technical visits and creating an indicator matrix to monitor environmental solutions
• Writing final internship reports summarizing their experiences and learning outcomes

🌿 The internship proved to be an enriching experience for both students and host institutions, contributing to the development of future professionals skilled in sustainability and green infrastructure practices. Students expressed 100% satisfaction with the program’s training, platform, and hands-on approach.
