Train the Trainers Activity at Porto

The Nacional de Coberturas Verdes (ANCV) project partner hosted a Train the Trainers event in Porto (27-28 May 2024) as part of the Green Roofs project. This initiative aimed at building capacity among trainers to promote the widespread adoption of green roofs and sustainability in urban landscapes. The event was designed to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to teach others about the benefits and implementation of green roofs.

The training featured a variety of activities and workshops, focusing on the ecological, social, and economic advantages of green roofs. Attendees explored key topics such as Biodiversity, Nature-based Solutions, and their impact on urban resilience. They also participated in hands-on workshops, where they learned about designing, installing, and maintaining green roofs.

The event emphasized the role of green roofs in enhancing urban biodiversity, reducing the heat island effect, and managing stormwater. The participants had the opportunity to engage with the Green Roofs project more broadly, which aims to inspire environmentally friendly practices in cities, offering innovative solutions for climate adaptation.

Through interactive sessions and expert-led discussions, the Train the Trainers event fostered collaboration among professionals, who are now better prepared to share their knowledge and encourage sustainable urban development.
