4th Project Meeting: Slovenia

We had a wonderful and constructive time at the 4th Green Roofs Project Meeting, which took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on September 25-26, 2024. The project is progressing very promisingly!

✨ It was an honour to have a discussion led by Mr. Boštjan Kavčič from NORIK, who shared insights on the BTC City green roof case study. We followed this up with a visit to BTC City, where we saw the project in action, bringing green infrastructure to life!

✨ Meeting Highlights:

1. Growing demand for Green Roof Technicians to meet the increasing need for biodiversity, energy efficiency, and sustainable urban development across Europe.
2. Architects, engineers, and policymakers play a crucial role in achieving the 2030 sustainability targets, ensuring cities transition to greener, more efficient solutions.
3. Green roofs offer significant long-term savings by improving energy efficiency, making them a cost-effective investment for urban environments.
4. Synergy between solar panels and green roofs—the combined use of green roofs and photovoltaic systems maximizes efficiency, creating a sustainable energy solution.
5. Addressing misconceptions about cost, we highlighted the importance of viewing green roofs as an investment that provides long-term benefits and savings.
